Fluidez territorial como articuladora del turismo con motivos odontológicos en Molar City (Los Algodones, México).

Resumo

El turismo de salud se ha perfilado en el siglo XXI como una actividad económica de gran relevancia para los países periféricos. Dentro de sus múltiples especialidades, la odontología es quizá uno de los casos más emblemáticos, y ha propiciado que Los Algodones, una localidad fronteriza mexicana, se haya convertido en uno de los destinos preferidos por muchos pacientes. El objetivo de este trabajo es comprender cómo el turismo de salud organiza esta localidad latinoamericana. Mediante la aplicación de 41 entrevistas semiestructuradas a agentes involucrados y recorridos en campo, se descubrió que diferentes núcleos de migración y movilidad se amalgaman en una dinámica de fluidez territorial que explican por qué a esta localidad se le conoce como Molar City.
