Abstract

This work deals with a philosophical education that belongs to comics. Its general objective is to explain the philosophy inherent to DC Comics, in particular to deal with the implications of the concept of Source. As a problem, we have the introduction of a primordial source for the characters in comics, which gains a strong ethical distinction and radical polarization, which leads to the use of a philosophical and metaphysical content applied in a direct way with developments that become overly complex, leading to new questions about its initial nature. As a hypothesis, we have that, despite Jack Kirby's initial division of New Gods into radical polarization, there is an emphasis on the merge between different poles. The focus raised in our hypothesis gains more consistency in Jim Starlin’s work, when he suggests that the Source and the anti-life equation would be part of the same single principle. Other polarizations arising from the Source, such as the contrast between Dark destiny and Justice are also addressed in this work.
