Abstract

This paper aims to understand if and how the Theory of Communication, by Roman Jakobson, is in oral activities from Portuguese textbook – Projeto Radix, 7th grade. It was pointed out that, in most of the activities, the oral text has as basis the written, dealing a few with spontaneous oral text. The oral expression is thought, specially, from the constitutive factor of act of verbal communication – the contact; being the phatic function the most appealing. In general, it was perceived that, despite the theory of communication not be in textbook theoretical references, it is there, implicitly and with other terminology.

Paula Gaida Winch é Doutoranda em Estudos Linguísticos pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria/RS (PPGLetras/UFSM). É Mestre em Educação e Licenciada em Letras Português – Inglês e respectivas literaturas pela UFSM. Tem experiência na área de Ensino e Educação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: ensino de língua materna, oralidade, linguística e metodologia científica em trabalhos acadêmicos.

Silvana Schwab Nascimento é Doutoranda em Estudos Linguísticos pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria/RS (PPGLetras/UFSM). É Mestre em Letras pela UFSM, Licenciada em Letras Português e respectivas literaturas. Atualmente é professora substituta no Curso de Letras da UFSM. Tem experiência na área de Letras, com ênfase em Língua Portuguesa, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: língua portuguesa, gramática, leitura e produção de texto e linguística.
