Abstract

Considered to be the main objects of analysis of Literature, the studies on certain features of poetry have not much interest to the linguists, which, somehow makes some important discussions aside and some issues that could raise several discussions are not even set. Considering that poetry is an important field to linguistic research, mainly in Semantics, we intend to in this article to observe senses of the word poetry in Jakobson's theory. For this, we, in a first moment, raise a small discussion as to his theory and what place (s) that poetry occupies. After this discussion, we situate ourselves in the theoretical line of Semantics of the Events, to establish the Semantic Domain Determination of this word in the corpus established.

Adilson Ventura da Silva é doutor e mestre em Linguística pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas – Unicamp. É professor adjunto da Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia – UESB. Atua principalmente nas áreas de Semântica Argumentativa e Semântica do Acontecimento tanto na graduação quanto na Pós-Graduação.
