Abstract

In this article, we present a reflection on the constitution the diversity constituency of the origins that compose France nowadays in three French as a Foreign Language textbooks. We checked if they provide the learner with the keys to get to know and understand the different faces of French society regarding the evolution of the social composition of the population. With this aim, we have observed how the textbooks introduce and develop the diversity of origins, which hence reflects the cultural diversity. The analysis shows that textbooks remain on the surface of cultural phenomena and impose linguistic and behavioral models not only on teachers but also on students.
