Abstract

The intention of this article is to highlight the social and existential field, hierarchy between the genders in a genealogical perspective and thus taking the historical construction of the category of women as mothers and its subsequente deconstruction with the First Feminist Movement.

Joel Birman, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ/Brazil); University Paris VII (France)

Joel Birman is a psychoanalyst and full member of the Brazilian Space for Psychoanalytic Studies; full member of Espace Analytique (France). He is a Full Professor at the Institute of Psychology at UFRJ; Professor and researcher at the Postgraduate Program in Psychoanalytic Theory at UFRJ; Director of Studies in Letters and Human Sciences at the Paris VII University; Associate Researcher at the Laboratory “Psychoanalysis, Medicine and Society”, at the Paris VII University.
