The disciplined homosexual and his truths

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze how the homosexuality was produced by scientific knowledge in the context of the disciplinary power. First, we examine how the science discourse, wrapped by classificatory questions related to normal sexuality and other deviations, was built the homosexual. We also demonstrate the main operations in its construction: the elevation of homosexual desire to the category of truth of the subject, the circumscription of a homosexual nature, the referral of homosexuality to the category of diffuse cause of all subjective behaviors and the construction of the homosexual as a character. Finally, we problematize the identification of homosexuals with the disciplinary’s postulates of the scientific knowledge.
