Interlingua and language codes of the cobblers of Passos

Abstract

This paper derives from an extension project that aimed to compile, organize and theoretically interpret the so-called cobbler's language, a form of linguistic expression that has been widely used by certain social groups linked to the shoemaker class, from the city of Passos, Minas Gerais, but which, over time, due to the very decline of this profession, remains only limited to some speaking subjects who still have such linguistic knowledge. In this sense, through the data obtained, we now make a theoretical-hypothetical proposition to analyze this cobbler's language not as a linguistic variety, but as a language code in an interlanguage, produced in the linguistic knowledge of the subject-workers linked to this universe meanings of the passense shoe shops. Therefore, answering this theoretical hypothesis is the main objective of this work.
