The THE CHILDREN'S LITERATURE AND THE APPROACHES TO SCHOOL MATHEMATICS

The aim of this paper is to discuss the approximation between children’s literature and mathematics, at the investigation perspective of the following issues: How children’s literature books approach the stories? Which are the approximations with the mathematics? For so, it was done a documental research on the Right Age for Alphabetization National Treaty book 6 of children’s literature. The analyses were organized upon Carneiro (2012), Knijnik (2013), Lave (1996, 2002) among others. It was considered two groups for analysis: a) The distinctive stories’ contexts; b) the meaning of words such as Grandeurs and Measures. Therefore, each story presents a diversified practice context, for instance, going home from the forest, siblings relationship, economy notion, time notion, and also, the words meaning are very similar to the concepts block of Grandeurs and Measures.
