The Tutorial Education Program (PET) has as its basic principle the inseparability between teaching, research and extension. In this sense, one of the strategies used by the PET Agronomy group of the Federal University of Recôncavo of Bahia - UFRB to carry out the teaching and extension actions is the cycle of scientific seminars. The seminars aim to improve the technical training of/as petianos/as, as well as dissemination of scientific knowledge and training of speakers, mostly students, in the field of public communication. The results show that the cycles of scientific seminars developed by PET Agronomia are an important tool for the academic and professional growth of/a petiano/a in order to stimulate the training of high technical scientific, technological and academic, with enhanced critical perception and communication skills. Therefore, it is concluded that the Seminar activity carried out by the PET Agronomy Group emerges as an alternative that tends to cause positive changes, hence the importance of maintaining the strategy in order to provide a more complete academic and professional training according to the objectives of the Tutorial Education Program.
