Teacher training policies and pedagogical practices: disputed processes

Conference given on May 24, 2024 at the IX National Seminar and V International Seminar on Public Policies, Management and Educational Praxis (Gepráxis Seminar), at the State University of Southwest Bahia (UESB). The conference analyzes pedagogical policies and practices in initial teacher training, focusing on the area of Physical Education, in the context of Uruguay; raises the impacts of national and international educational policies on the professional training of future teachers; addresses the evolution of teacher training and identifies the need for reflective praxis. Next, the implications of the new National Curricular Framework (MCN) on pre-professional practices and its orientation towards the development of human skills are discussed. Finally, it is highlighted that teacher training is a continuous exercise in the construction and dispute of pedagogical policies and practices, crucial for educational and social development.
