Arte e saúde: expressão do cuidar/cuidado humano em uma pintura da Renascença

This article presents information from an iconographic study – based on a
qualitative approach, guided by the question “what are the representations of
human care/caring present in a Renaissance painting?” – whose objective was to identify the representation(s) of human care expressed by a Renaissance painting. The art developed in the Renaissance had a scientific character due to the knowledge of Mathematics, Physics, and other areas, included in it. The results of the study of the image produced by artistic material – iconography – allowed, through iconographic analysis, to reveal human care in the form of compassion as being the true meaning of the painting The Good Samaritan (1550-1570) by Jacopo Bassano. Other variants of caring/caring were identified, converging on the representation of caring/caring as a manifestation of life.
