Dissidentes intelectuais negras: das encruzilhadas epistemológicas aos paradigmas anticoloniais

Abstract

This article is part of an already completed doctoral research subsidized by dense epistemic reflections, one of the developments claimed by the research process was to structure a comparative theoretical analysis about the productions of Luiza Bairros (1995), Florestan Fernandes (1989), Lélia Gonzalez (1984), June Hahner (1981) and Bebel Nepomuceno (2013) who address issues related to black women in Brazilian society, marked above all by the way each intellectual articulates the categories: race, gender and class, as well as the concept of intersectionality . Gonzalez (1984), with excellent pioneering spirit, brings to the fore discussions about the conditions of black women in Brazilian society, with a pertinent and sharp look at the social markers of gender, race and class, in addition to well-founded and concise criticisms of cisheteropatriarchal, classist sociological canons and white people such as: Gilberto Freyre (1933), Florestan Fernandes (1989) and Costa Pinto (1953) who prepared distorted studies on realities where racism, machismo and sexism were perpetrated, by neglecting the consideration of race in specificity to gender, in their widely disseminated and legitimized studies, they ratified the naturalization and strengthening of oppressions such as racism, machismo and sexism. These combined oppressions increase situations of vulnerability that specifically affect the black female social segment.
