Black and women, black women, African women: the social, cultural and political relations of black women in Brazil and African women in southern Africa - a panoramic view

Abstract

Brazil and Austral Africa comprise many regionalities and diversities, as well as the treatments given by these societies and cultures to black and African women. However, one issue jumps into the eye that is the fact that they are in conditions of social violence, but fighting and resisting these ancient adversities, elaborated by traditions and power relations formulated by men. Black, woman, poor, peripheral, marginalized, unprotected and staple has been how the male and patriarchal collective imaginary has conceived these women. Thus, the status of citizen of social rights, civil, economic, owner and inalienable owner of her body and feelings was suppressed as they withdrew the possibility of fully exercising their humanity.
