Home education and religion: a thesis methodological path and the examination of academic productions

Abstract

The exploratory qualitative research that resulted in the thesis “Religious families who opt for home education”, has involved state of the art investigation, cases studies and scientific production survey about the subject. This article main objective is to demonstrate the thesis methodological path construction and the academic scientific production results examination (thesis and dissertations) in Brazil, from 2010 to 2023, on home education and religion in postgraduate programs. Specifically, describing the thesis methodological; its presented an overview of the scientific productions found on the subject; identifying which scientific productions correlate the themes of home education and religion; and verifying scientific production during the pandemic period. Among the main findings, are highlighted the topic interest increase with focus on the relevant applicable legislation, besides the gradual subject research insertion in postgraduate programs, predominantly in the areas of Education and Law, highlighting the production of a greater number of dissertations than theses.
