Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word docx format,
  • The text complies with the standards set out in the guidelines for authors; uses a 12-point font; the figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document in the form of attachments. The titles of the figures, tables, charts, maps and pictures are at the top and source at the bottom
  • Articles submitted to the Geopauta magazine will be free of charge, from submission, peer review, layout and editing, linguistic, textual revision and translation into English, will be the responsibility of the author, and all content responsibilities
  • Make the registration in the system and subsequent access, by means of login and password, are mandatory for the submission of works, as well as to accompany the ongoing editorial process. Login to an existing account or Register a new account.

Publication Guidelines

GEOPAUTA is an open access magazine that publishes free articles in the area of ​​geography and related areas with the following publication standards:
 All works must be unpublished.
 Submissions will be accepted in the following languages: Portuguese, eventually in Spanish and English. The article must be presented in the original language of the author (s). In the case of an article in English or Spanish, it must also be translated into Portuguese. Translation is the responsibility of the author (s).
The submitted article may have a maximum of two or three authors.
Each tenderer may only submit one article per issue and at most one submission per year (starting the deadline counting from the final evaluation result and publication of their last submission)
The file submitted for evaluation cannot contain any information that identifies the author (s). (In the evaluation stage, the author (s) are identified by their metadata.) The author should send another file in docx format with the identification of the authors to the email geopauta@uesb.edu.br

 Form of presentation:

 The title should not have specific formatting - only the first word and proper names begin with a capital letter (in Portuguese and English).

 Each article should have a summary in portuguese of approximately 120 words and 3 keywords, followed by the English title, abstract and 3 keywords.

 Citations:

- up to 3 lines: in the body of the text, between quotation marks and without italics;

- above 3 lines: in body 11, between single lines, indentation to the left of 4 cm; - Literal quotations: surname of the author, date of publication and page (s) cited, according to the example: (SANTOS, 1994, p.30) or (Harvey, 2013, p.94). The complete reference of the cited work must be included in the References at the end of the article.

Italic: words of foreign origin and highlights in the text. (Avoid bold and underlined.)

Illustrations, charts, tables, maps, graphics and photos should be consistent with the text, have good resolution and be in the body of the text, near the point where they are cited. The title should be above (not inside) the figure, and the font, just below (not inside).

 The file can not have text boxes. (Titles and fonts of figures must be in the body of the text.)
