Mulheres em revistas: representações femininas na revista ilustrada Fon-Fon!

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this article is to understand how women were represented in the illustrated magazine Fon-Fon!, a carioca
weekly that circulated between 1907 and 1957. Initially, we sought to understand the relationship between women and the
city, in order to understand how their the creation of the “modern woman” so explored by the magazine in its articles and
photographs, produced by its chroniclers and photographers, who dedicated their days to weaving views over the cities that
were going through the process of modernization and urbanization as well as by the passers-by, especially those in the women.
It was also sought to understand the photographs of women linked to the feuilleton and what were their meanings in the
urban society of the time, dominated by men.
