Building anti-racist awareness: experiences of the PET-Saúde program during Black November.

The research aims to describe the "Black November" activity, promoted by group 5 of PET-Saúde Equidade of UESB in partnership with the Health Department of Jequié. The project produced a game called “Guess who I am” to address black representation and value black personalities in Brazilian history. The game was held in several health units, where reflections were promoted on explicit and implicit racism, the importance of Black Awareness Day, the dedication of a month to debate the topic and encourage an anti-racist stance among professionals in the area. The activity highlighted the need to transform health units into more inclusive spaces, through education and appreciation of the black population in the country. This study concludes that initiatives during “Black November” are essential to raise awareness and confront racism, promoting changes both in society and in professional environments.
