Abstract

Nursing, a technical and scientific pillar of healthcare, has historically faced the stigma of eroticization, which distorts its identity. This text seeks to discuss how sexist stereotypes devalue the profession and encourage harassment and institutional invisibility. The predominance of women in the field favors objectification and violence at work, exemplified by cases of harassment that have gone to court. This scenario, fueled by the media and cultural fetishes, weakens the technical authority and autonomy of female professionals. Therefore, it is urgent to combat eroticization and invisibility through media literacy and protection policies, ensuring that nursing is recognized as an autonomous, dignified, and essential science.
