Argumentation in the documentary ‘Pátria educadora’, produced by Brasil Paralelo

Abstract

We analyze, under the concepts of argumentation, the documentary Pátria educadora, made in 2020 by the producer Brasil Paralelo, in three episodes. We show the context that the film was produced. We verify initially that the documentary discusses the Brazilian educational structure, apparently with the finality of supporting the ideas of diverse groups called “Nova Direita” (New Right). In order to analyze the arguments, specific narrator's and interviewers’ speeches were chosen and reproduced. We observed just the verbal aspects of the discourse and, for it, the theoretical fundamentals priority follows Fiorin (2018). With the selected enunciates and the comprehension of political context in the years of the videos was created is possible concluded that the documentary organize practicals of mobilization by the New Right, which were settled in the social medias. Besides, it is remarkable the appeal in order the viewers (the auditorium, according with the classical and new rhetoric) purchase products, mainly free courses by the digital platforms.
