Commemorating the thirtieth anniversary of the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, a landmark for gender equality, this editorial explores the complex dynamics of inequality in the Brazilian labor market. The text highlights the importance of feminist economics by making visible the unpaid work, performed mostly by women, and criticizes traditional economic theories for disregarding it. The sexual division of labor is a central theme, as it hierarchizes work activities and limits women's professional advancement. The articles in this edition reveal how inequalities persist structurally, manifesting in barriers such as the "glass ceiling" and the "glass cliff". Intersectionality is a fundamental concept, demonstrating that gender, race, disability, and identity interact to create specific vulnerabilities in the labor market. The editorial concludes that while formal equity policies are important, they are insufficient without a deeper cultural and institutional transformation.
