Abstract

Amburana cearensis (Fabaceae) is a wild tree, typical of the northeastern caatinga, popularly known as cumaru or imburana-de-cheiro. Chemical studies and medications can characterize coumaru, with the definition of assets, such as coumarin and amburid A, and its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and relaxing potential of rodent tracheal smooth muscle. However, abiotic factors influence the constitution of the active principles of plant species, conferring different pharmaceutical properties on plants from different regions. In view of the above, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the composition of the Amburana cearensis seed, with an emphasis on phytochemical analysis and antimicrobial activity. Several types of metabolites without extract were detected. In addition, the extract has important antioxidant activity, in addition to AChE inhibition and antimicrobial potential in relation to C. albicans and S aureus.
