Abstract

The present work sought to understand how the process of acquisition of the scientific knowledge in a  literacy class in the Youth and Adult Education of the Gilvan de Souza school in 2019. The research  brought pertinent questions about the resistance of this Youth and Adult Education audience to  assimilating the information they confront the popular knowledge that they bring rooted throughout their  formation informal with scientific knowledge at school. The case study had as its instrument the  interviews conducted with the students and literacy. The result of this work showed the prevalence of  knowledge popular in the context of science classes, making it difficult to integrate with the knowledge  scholarly scholars, and highlighted the way the teacher conducted the process.
