Electronic access broadens its range of action, allowing free access to scientific output,
The purpose of the journal is the dissemination of scientific papers, resulting from dense research, linked to research projects and their respective researchers, masters, doctoral studies and others.
The Geopauta journal does not charge any type of fee for submission and publication of the texts of each article submitted. The authors will not receive any remuneration for the submission and publication of the article.
TARGET AUDIENCE
It has as a target the researchers of Geography and related sciences.
The Geopauta Journal has the mission of disseminating research and reflections on topics related to geographic science and related areas. Publish research results; theoretical and thematic texts in the most different themes and categories of geography and related areas, with research results, case studies and practices.
It seeks to promote academic debate in geography and scientific innovation in the area of Social and Human Sciences.
The Journal will evaluate articles submitted in the Scielo preprint model and other repositories from 2022 onwards,
The Journal will classify the collaborations according to the following sections:
- Technical-Scientific Articles: texts that contain complete reports of studies or completed research
- Eventually, articles will be published in thematic dossiers At the discretion of the Editorial Committee, relevant articles and classic works of national and international dissemination may be published in accordance with copyright rules.
- Essays: It is intended for an argumentative text, which can be the presentation of a study or the development of a theme within the scope of the journal.
Endogeny
It will not be allowed to publish more than one article per author in the same year. The inclusion of authors after the beginning of the manuscript evaluation process will not be allowed. each article may have a maximum of three authors
Maximum of 30% of articles by UESB-linked authors will be allowed to be published. The editorial process of endogenous articles will follow the same patterns as the flow of external authors.
Periodicity
In 2020 and 2021, the journal's publication frequency was quarterly with continuous flow submissions
As of 2022, we will publish the texts in a continuous publication mode (rolling pass). The continuous publication or rolling pass is the publication of articles as they are approved, per year. There are no fascicles, no periodicity. There is no closed periodicity in months. This measure minimizes the problem of publication time between acceptance and publication of the approved article, precisely because of the great demand for submissions received by the Journal. We also consider it a way to give visibility and expand access to articles already refereed, allowing them to be edited, formatted, DOI validated and published continuously.

Open Science- Preprints- review
The Open Science movement proposes guidelines for collaborative, shared and public scientific practice. In line with Open Science guidelines, Geopauta adopts a series of practices, such as the free access policy, the code of good practices for editors and the use of social networks to disseminate published works. If the author intends to publish in preprints format, we provide the form in accordance with the Open Science of SciELO and indicate, according to the Open Science statement, that files containing Research Data (codes, methods and other materials used and resulting from the research) be made available. in the manuscript itself or in an open online repository, and will be evaluated in this modality. In addition, we provide links to other public platforms, such as Preprints, Preprints SciELO, arqxiv, Psyarxiv, so that, if necessary, they can be discussed openly, before being published.
The author(s) who submit an article in the Scielo preprint and or in other public preprint platforms must indicate whether they want the article to be evaluated by Revista Geopauta. Geopauta journal will apply the steps described in the Geopauta peer review criteria section, so if the article submitted in the preprint system has reached the minimum conditions of the journal, it will be forwarded to the editorial committee for an opinion. Keywords
In order to ensure optimal placement of the submitted article and to facilitate research with the new tools, special attention should be given at the moment of indicating the keywords in topic 3.4 (Submission Indexing), with a choice of those representative of the content of the work.
