Abstract

Physical activity shows positive results in the control and treatment of anxiety and depression. The positive effects of listening to music during these activities are also evident. This study aimed to analyze the correlations between walking and music in an individual with high trait anxiety scores and identified as having depression. A single-subject, mixed-methods (qualitative and quantitative) case study was conducted using observation and self-reporting methods, with follow-up over 45 days. The collected data indicated a decrease in episodes, from 4 episodes per week to 2 episodes in the first week, 1 episode in the following three weeks, and no episodes in the last two weeks of monitoring. It was concluded that planned physical activity, music consumption, route tracking via an app, and diary maintenance, all combined, had positive and very promising results in reducing episodes and improving well-being.
