Dequi proposes the using of sintagrams to the identification of determinant and determined between the constitutive elements of an enunciation. From this identification on, it is possible to analise the subordination issue. The analysis about the relevant determining allows the thesis defense of non-subordination of the subjective clause, proposition that comes upon the traditional grammar and the school manuals. In the analysis made by the sintagrams, it is observed that all the information in theenunciation are associated to the subject. This reasoning, developed by Dequi (2006 [1976]), permits the statement that the subject, logically and sintatically, is a sovereign term which will never be determinant. Considering the subordination, another element generally misused is the integral subordinate conjunction: THAT. According to Dequi this THAT only marks the developed form of the determined and determinant. This one which subordinates, according to the author, it is not the conjunction, but the syntactic function of the word or clause. If the subordinate element was the conjunction, there wouldn’t be reduced subordinate clauses, there wouldn’t be subordinate words, that is what the author shows us. At last, in chronological and content comparison about the aspect mentioned above, we confronted the propositions of Dequi with the article The Invisible Clause by Bernardes (2009). The results from the analysis suggest there is a ideological copy of the propositions from CES, considering the countless similar aspects
