THE GRAMMAR NEOPEDAGOGY: A HISTORY OF ACHIEVEMENTS

Francisco Dequi, professor of Portuguese and bachelor in Law, is the mentor of the Grammar Neope-dagogy, a new way to teach the Portuguese Language. Over the years he created and implemented the Instituto Pró-Universidade Canoense (IPUC) and the Technology College IPUC (FATIPUC), pub-lished important didactic books, promoted congresses, established an important research facility, theCenter of Sintagrammatical Studies (CES). But this researcher is never satisfied and he is always looking for improvement on his books and theses and, mainly, new adepts who could help him carry forward the Grammar Neopedagogy. To accomplish that, he offers a College Linguistics Course and post-graduation courses, always using his methodology. Now, the first group from the Post-Graduation Course in Grammar Neopedagogy is able to use this new form of teaching, whether in class, lectures, taking knowledge tests or any other activities which may need to deal with oral or written language. Therefore, to know the Grammar Neopedagogy is to walk on this path proposed by Dequi; is to be driven to realize grammatical facts never noticed before, it is to be a part of this history of accomplish-ments. This article was written not only based on Dequi’s works and personal archives but were also made interviews with him and his students from the post-graduation course.
