The mandatory supervised internship for higher education has been the subject of studies of articles and articles published by authors in the field. Through the supervised internship, undergraduate students have contact with the school, with educational documents and legislation and with students in the classroom in Basic Education, and may have the opportunity to socialize their knowledge during the classes taught, in addition to experiencing the school routine. The objective of the study was to verify the perceptions of graduates of the Degree in Natural Sciences with Qualification in Chemistry, from the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso - Campus Confresa, about the importance of the supervised internship. The qualitative research was conducted in the second half of 2019 through a structured questionnaire with open and closed questions. The subjects, eight state teachers who work in the discipline of Chemistry and graduates of that course. Between 2014 and 2018, five academic undergraduate degrees in chemistry were completed, with a total of 61 graduates. Through the study it was possible to notice that the internship tends to contribute so that the undergraduate students can experience the school routine, reflecting on the decision to act or not in the teaching career.
