Abstract

This article aims to identify the representation of the ethos present in the political discourse of disguised prejudice directed at the LGBT+ public. The contributions of Goffman (2018) on representation and its phenomena are used; besides Maingueneau (2019) on the enunciative scenes and discursive ethos, as well as complementary references. The research is exploratory, bibliographical and documentary, with a qualitative analysis of a clipping of the speech of deputy Márcio Gualberto in discussion at the Legislative Assembly of RJ on the award of the Citizenship, Law and Respect to Diversity Award for the Arco-Íris group, which defends LGBT+ rights in the state. We present that the creation of a disguised discourse of prejudice only masks a real positioning of the enunciator on the subject, being constructed based on a false representation of his real intentions and on an ethos that reaffirms the stereotypes already installed in the collective memory.
