This review analyzes the book "Quality of Life - Education, Health, Work and Society" by Welton Cardoso Júnior, Berta Leni Costa Cardoso and Cláudio Pinto Nunes, published by UESC Press. The 103-page work is part of the UESB Editions from Vitória da Conquista in 2025. At first glance, I expected a conventional academic treatise. However, the authors surprise by deconstructing the concept of quality of life, revealing its structural determinants. The book balances theoretical rigor and social relevance, connecting theory and practice in an accessible way. The authors criticize individualistic discourses about well-being and denounce the reproduction of inequalities in institutions. Despite some gaps, such as the absence of practical examples and references to Paulo Freire, the work is powerful and provocative. Its greatest contribution lies in reminding us that quality of life is not a commodity, but a right.Downloads
