This article aims to understand the challenges and strategies of educational management in three schools in the Lichinga district, Mozambique, analyzing how leadership and school administration practices can contribute to improving educational quality. The research was conducted using a qualitative and exploratory approach, employing semi-structured interviews with six school managers as the primary data collection instrument. Data analysis was based on information triangulation and content analysis, allowing the identification of patterns, difficulties, and effective management practices. The results show that school managers face multiple challenges, including administrative overload, a shortage of qualified personnel, limited financial and material resources, insufficient infrastructure, and low community participation. Internal and external factors directly impact management effectiveness and teaching quality, making adaptive strategies necessary. Adopted measures include strategic planning, continuous training of managers and teachers, systematic pedagogical supervision, and participatory management involving teachers, students, and the community. It is concluded that improving educational management depends on the harmonious integration of leadership, resources, planning, and community participation, with a strong need to invest in professional development, resource optimization, infrastructure expansion, and the implementation of innovative pedagogical practices.
