ONE PURPOSE OF TEACHING-LEARNING BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE ORTHOGRAPHY. We aim, in this article, to evaluate the orthographic performance of a child, at the age of 9, who is in the third year of elementary school at a public school located in Bagé-RS. The theoretical background is based in the studies of Morais (2008) and the application of an orthographic observation guide, which was proposed by Zorzi (1998). At the end of this work, we propose an activity of pedagogic intervention in order to intervene in a systematized way in the student's learning for helping her comprehension of the running of Brazilian orthographic system.
