Cassandra Rios’s Minor Literature in Eu sou uma Lésbica

Abstract

The article analyzes Eu sou uma Lésbica, by Cassandra Rios, from the perspective of Deleuze and Guattari’s concept of minor literature. The objective proposed here is to identify elements such as the deterritorialization of language, the politicization of the utterance, and the collectivity of discourse, which may characterize this work as part of what is called minor literature. The narrative of Flávia, the protagonist who revisits her experiences from childhood to adulthood, reveals a trajectory marked by desire, transgression, and identity affirmation, breaking with pathologizing representations historically attributed to lesbianity. To conduct the analysis, we adopt Semiolinguistic Discourse Analysis, proposed by Charaudeau and adapted by Machado, which makes it possible to observe the functioning of the subjects of enunciation and the discursive strategies mobilized in the work. At the end of the discussions, it is concluded that this work by Cassandra Rios is part of minor literature.
