This paper intends to discuss the orality notion, presented in Henri Meschonnic's poetics. Firstly, the dichotomous view between orality and writing is questioned, considering the reflections in Zumthor (1997), Marcuschi (2001) and Meschonnic (1985) and (1989/2006). Secondly, this work debates the transformation of the dichotomy between orality and writing into the tripartite writing, spoken and orality, from Meschonnic (1982), (1985), (1989/2006) and (1982/2009). Finally, the fact that the tripartite postulates that the orality is present in writing as well as in spoken language is discussed, since alters the notion of orality, by transforming it into a litterary notion, too.
