Objective: to understand through the available evidence in the literature about cancer pain and its biopsychosocial implications. Method: this is an integrative review of the literature, with a qualitative approach, carried out between March and May 2016. Results: 12 studies were selected that dealt with the theme in question. Five thematic categories were discussed discussing the aspects related to patients' "Feelings" and experiences that go through the "Procedures", "Patient's family" and "professionals" that closely follow the treatment, as well as "nursing" in its essence of caring. Conclusions: The patient as a person dismembers a series of phenomena that are inserted, not only the fear of death but also a confrontation with painful treatments, family acceptance, monitoring of their emotional state and dealing with pain.
