Resumen

Objective: To analyze the knowledge produced in the scientific literature about prenatal nursing actions in order to reduce vertical transmission of syphilis. Methods: an integrative literature review was performed by searching the LILACS, BDENF, MEDLINE and SciELO databases, from 2010 to 2019, the descriptors used were: “congenital syphilis” and “nursing”, after applying the inclusion criteria, ten articles were selected for discussion. Results: It was observed that nurses should perform health education actions, early diagnosis in women of reproductive age, perform active search of partners and notify confirmed cases, in order to reduce the rates of vertical transmission. Conclusion: progress in the rates of congenital syphilis indicates the need to implement public policies aimed at controlling the disease.
