VERBOVISUALITY IN PANDEMIC TIMES: A DIALOGICAL ANALYSIS

Abstract

This article discusses the multiplicity of meanings present in verbovisual genres that evidenced the relationship between the position of the presidente of the Republic Jair Bolsonaro on social isolation amid the Caronavirus pandemic. This investigation is justified by the importance the verbovisual literacy has in generating critical-reflective citizens, mainly in the training of students in Basic Education. In addition, considering reading as one of the axes of Portuguese Language teaching in basic education, our investigation aims to contribute to formal shooling, especially with regard to contemporary reading proposals from a dialogical perspective. In organizational terms, we selected verbovisual genres that were aired on social networks in the first half of 2020, the period of growth of the pandemic in Brazil. For this reflection, we will use the dialogical lenses of the so-called Bakhtin and the Circle, in which we list the utterance and responsiveness as a category of analysis. , such as utterance and dialocial relations. In our considerations, we observe that When engendering a utterance, the verbovisual elements responsively refer to other utterance, without which the interlocutors may not understand the possible effects of meanings. Through joke, our analyzes can explain how several speakers manage to express their ideas, disseminating them through social networks and virtual groups on cell phones, as in the theme of criticism of the actions engendered by the President of the Republic Jair Bolsonaro, whose public utterance in social networks or News programs, proved a position of denial to all social isolation protocols prescribed by health authorities, such as the use of a mask to prevent the spread of the new Coronavirus.
