As experiências de mulheres negras campesinas do assentamento da fazenda Sururu de Queiroz de Varzedo/BA

Abstract

This article presents part of a research carried out at master's level and which aimed to understand how race and gender intersected in the memories triggered about the experiences lived by workers settled at Fazenda Sururu de Queiroz, Varzedo/BA. To this end, we use black and decolonial feminism as a theoretical-political anchor to demarcate that the multiple oppressions suffered by black women are interconnected with race and gender, which resulted in making racism, sexism and biocapitalism visible in the life stories of these women, as well as their infrapolitical strategies as resistances in echoes of our ancestries. In the methodological scope, we present a qualitative research approach, in order to prioritize the recognition of the territory and listening to the narrative of black peasant women from Fazenda Sururu. Thus, the fieldwork included visits to the community and semi-structured interviews so that listening to the narratives of black peasant women was enhanced. Readings by black intellectual women are essential to understand the process of dehumanization of black women engendered by capitalism and patriarchy. The narratives demonstrate the worldviews and infrapolitical resistances that fracture capitalism, Eurocentrism and modernity, creating and strengthening community legacies.
