The interview described in this text was carried out with Professor Edson Dias
Ferreira, from the State University of Feira de Santana (UEFS) in Bahia. The script was
previously sent and after checking the possibilities, we scheduled the interview
date via the Google Meet Platform. This reading suggestion aims to compose
reflections on the themes of visual languages and culture from the perspective of
Professor Edson Dias, and how they influenced his academic life as a whole,
highlighting the importance of audiovisual languages and culture in cultural
manifestations of the Afro-Brazilian population, in the process of training, teaching
and teaching practice, enriching the educational experience and providing
different forms of expression and learning for future generations.
