Abstract

The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed the way
we live and interact, especially impacting educational activities,
including outreach activities. ODEERE – the Education and Ethnic Relations
Department of the Southwest Bahia State University (UESB), develops
teaching, research, and outreach activities. Among the outreach
activities, one event stands out, as it has been taking place since ODEERE
was founded in 2005: the Afro-Brazilian Belonging Education Week, which
ran from November 16 to 20. This event was held in person until the
pandemic, and in light of it, the ODEERE team sought to determine how it
could be carried out without interruption. In light of this, it became
necessary to verify the techniques and methods necessary for the event
to take place virtually. This article aims to discuss the development of this
YouTube Channel and the holding of the event in 2020 and 2021. Along
with this, it will present a brief analysis of the operation of the Channel
during the holding of the event in the indicated period.
