The objective of this work is to know the sociodemographic and labor characteristics of indigenous migrant women from Hidalgo who are engaged in domestic work in the state of Nuevo León, Mexico. To achieve this objective, the 2015 intercensal survey will be explored. Compared with other migratory movements, the internal migration of women in Mexico has been little studied, particularly that involving the indigenous population. Among the main results, we find that migrant women from Hidalgo who are engaged in paid domestic work in Nuevo León have precarious employment conditions as a result of the social, cultural and legal institutionalization of inequality and structural injustice. It is a socially devalued job, since it is considered typical of the social construction of female gender roles, as a consequence we find that discrimination is legitimized in legal terms, in the absence of economic recognition and of their labor rights.
