These notes are the result of reflections on experiences lived by me and my daughters, after 14 years in Brazilian lands, reflected in the music of Renato Braz. There’s a lot to talk about the marks tattooed on our skins, memories, eyes, smells, touches, however, I will try to narrate some that have marked and mark us as a body that does not belong here. Experiences shared with her that arrived in Brazil with only 6 months of life, where at all times we had and we have to answer the question: Where are you from? Although narrated in the “first people”, they also bring to light what many, many African countries, dark-skinned, they experience it while they are not Brazilian, stamped on their skin and in the accents of the non-“Global North”. Emphasize that these are notes about our experiences, as non-European and non-North American foreigners.
