Review of the collection “Educational policy: national and international experiences”

Abstract

The Educational Policy Collection: National and International Experiences brings together critical analyses of educational policies across diverse national and international contexts, offering readers a comprehensive view of contemporary challenges in education. Although the title may suggest practical reports, the texts stand out for their scientific rigor and methodological consistency, articulating reflections on teacher training, professional recognition, and the quality of education. This review is grounded in Historical-Dialectical Materialism (HDM), a perspective that enables the understanding of education in its historicity, contradictions, and links with teaching work. The analysis is organized into three interdependent axes: teacher valorization and quality of life; teacher training and educational policies; and national and international experiences. This structure highlights how the chapters interact and contribute to a critical comprehension of educational policies, pointing out both structural limits and the potential of emancipatory projects. The core objetive is to examine how the work engages with academic and political debates on education, offering theoretical and practical insights for researchers, managers, and professionals in the field. In particular, the collection contributes to reflections on teacher training policies, understood as a strategic element for consolidating socially referenced, highquality education committed to transforming reality.
