This article analyzes Anaïs Nin's work from the perspective of autofiction, as proposed by Arfuch (2010), highlighting the complex relationship between truth and fiction in Henry & June: Unexpurgated Diaries (1931-1932), as seen through the lens of Nascimento (2023). Drawing on Minayo's (2012) methodological approach and reflections on autobiographical narratives, the text under analysis presents how Nin constructs her transversal and subjective writing, in which the self as biography is constantly reconfigured, exploring the nuances of identity and the boundaries between truth and fiction. The article also reveals the influence of the historical and social context of the 1930s and 1940s on her work, highlighting the resonance of Nin's erotic writing and its transgression of gender norms, as well as addressing the autobiographical pact, the polyphonic subject, and the dialogical. It is evident how much her writing challenges the boundaries between confession and fiction and reverberates in the representation and insubordination of the female experience, in addition to contributing to the construction of ethos and subjectivity through self-writing.
