Abstract

Este trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar um breve panorama da vida e obra da autora angloirlandesa Maria Edgeworth (1767-1849), assim como a tradução brasileira do conto juvenil “The Purple Jar”, publicado por Edgeworth em 1856, incluído na obra Rosamond: a series of tales (1856), uma reedição da G. Routledge & CO., Farringdon Street, de Londres.
