Abstract

The purpose of this article is to show how the frames manifest themselves in the speech. In order to do so, we made a brief historical overview about this concept. Next, we introduce the frames view that guides this study and outline our analytic category: the basic conceptual frames. Methodologically, the research under consideration is qualitative in nature since does not need resort to the quantification of values. In addition, it is adopted in the analysis procedure the frame method applied to the discourse. Lastly, it uses as corpus three text excerpts extracted from the web. In conclusion, the results suggest that the frames are, beyond cognitive mechanisms, a powerful discursive resource.
