This article intends to bring aspects of the urban centrality of two cities in the Brazilian Northeast: Vitória da Conquista and Aracaju. The first one is a regional capital of the State of Bahia, with a privileged situation in the southwest of Bahia. Aracaju is the capital of the State of Sergipe and is characterized by strong primacy in the urban subsystem of which it is part. In order to carry out this work, a bibliographic review and field work were carried out to verify local conditions. These two cities have a strong centrality over the areas in which they are located and, among the functions, those of education and health stand out, with capacity to attract people from distant municipalities and even from other states. The tendency to strengthen the centrality of these cities has been accentuated in recent decades, being favored by the road network
