The article proposes to present a reflection on the contribution of a critical intercultural and decolonial pedagogy to the construction of new ways of living in society. Based on Vera Candau's theory, the text seeks to highlight the importance of an education that values cultural diversity, with an emphasis on promoting racial equity, as well as the challenges faced in both the structural aspects of education and the forces driving internationalization and standardization of pedagogical practices. To illustrate these ideas, an analysis was conducted on parts of the Political Pedagogical Project of Maria Felipa Afro-Brazilian School, located in the city of Salvador, Bahia, whose pedagogical proposal has been intentional since its inception in being an Afro-Brazilian school. The school has a curriculum focused on reducing racial inequalities, as well as on valuing and promoting Black and Afro-brazilian culture. The text further emphasizes the importance of intercultural and decolonial pedagogical practices that celebrate multiple identities and cultures as a way to envision possible futures, and highlights the crucial role of continuous teacher training so that they feel equipped and confident to incorporate diversity as a fundamental part of transformative education.
