BRAZILIAN AFRICANITIES IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL OF SALVADOR - BA: let’s talk to our children?

Addressing the law 10.639 / 03 in the school space is configured as the central issue presented in this textual production. To this end, we present to the reader an account of experience that occurred in a public school, with a 4th grade class from Elementary School I, precisely in the neighborhood of Pau Miúdo, Salvador, Bahia. We carry out a series of pedagogical activities with well-demarcated intentions regarding ethnic racial aspects and, above all, know what children think about these issues. To understand the data produced, we used the researchers Munanga (2012), Gomes (2003), Silva (1995), among others. We believe, even before this practice, that African and Afro-Brazilian ancestry needs to be inserted into the curricula of Basic Education as a strategy to feed the alterations that produce the school floor.
