Tenda dos Milagres: uma análise discursiva do romance de Jorge Amado

Abstract

This article sought to analyze some discursive aspects in the work Tenda dos Milagres, written by Jorge Amado. It starts from the perception that the religious discursivity that permeates Jorge Amado's literary discursivity presents a symbolization and resignification of identity, cultural and socio-historical processes specific to the African matrix. Therefore, adopting some of the procedures of discourse analysis from a Foucauldian perspective, the objective was, through the practices of subjectivation and objectification, to understand the subjectivities that involve the voices that emerge in the religious discourse, Candomblé, in the work Tenda dos Milagres. The analyzes provided the opportunity to verify that the silencing and subjectivities produced in places of residence and in Candomblé constitute meanings in movements, in and from history, in the composition of the subjects of discourse and their identities, demarcating resistances and struggles that preserve culture, ethnicity, manifestations of faith and belonging of the subject-characters in the work of this Bahian writer.
